On this day, we read how people who knew John the Baptist were wondering if he was the Messiah. John assured them that, no, he wasn’t. He said, “One mightier than me is coming after me. I am not worthy to stoop and loosen the thongs of his sandals. I have baptized you with water; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit” (Mark 1: 7-8).
With joyful expectation, we await the Lord. What an exciting time of year this is!
