Alubarén waits for St. Sebastian

August 10, 2020
Fr. Bob Kus

In this photo, we see representatives of the pueblo of Alubarén with a statue of their patron saint, St. Lawrence (Lorenzo in Spanish).  They are waiting for the arrival of the representatives of the pueblo of Reitoca and the statue of their patron saint, St. Sebastian.

Once the two statues arrive, they will dance together, kiss, and then lead the people to the Church of San Lorenzo in Alubarén for Mass to celebrate St. Sebastian’s feast day.

The Church of San Lorenzo in Alubarén is the oldest church of our parish, being over 400 years old!
