Today is the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, a 13th century saint who founded the Franciscan order.

Because our parish is named after St. Francis, each year we have a celebration for our parishioners that usually involves a Mass in the morning and entertainment in the evening.

In the photo above, we see Danilo Munguía (in the cowboy hat) loading up 200 rose bushes that would be gifts for families that coming to the evening’s festivities.  Fr. Gustavo González, past pastor of our parish, looks on; Fr. Gustavo has on the “Just do it” t-shirt.  In addition to our parish, our deanery is also named after St. Francis.
