Today is Good Friday, the only day of the year when there is no Mass celebrated in Catholic churches. This is the day we commemorate the passion and death of Jesus.
Instead of Mass, there is a traditional Good Friday service that has three parts: the reading of the passion and death of Jesus according to John (18: 1 – 19: 42); the veneration of the cross; and a Communion service.
The above photo shows three crosses that are in the pueblo of Reitoca, seat of the municipality of Reitoca and the parish of San Francisco de Asís.
