Catholic Christians in the United States celebrate Catholic Schools’ Week from January 29 – February 4, 2023.
Although our sister parish, the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary in Wilmington, North Carolina, has a Catholic school, our parish of San Francisco de Asís has no Catholic schools.
Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa are few and far between. Sometimes, though, when Americans first come to Honduras for a visit, they mistakenly believe all the students attend Catholic schools, because all the students wear uniforms. However, public school students wear uniforms that look like the uniforms of Catholic school students in the United States.
