Today is Father’s Day in Honduras and many Catholic-majority nations of the world, because March 19 is the feast of Saint Joseph, patron saint of fathers.
The vocation of father is a very noble one. It is also a very complex one, especially in modern societies where fathers are often seen as less important than mothers.
Little by little, however, researchers in behavioral sciences such as sociology, cultural anthropology, and clinical psychology are identifying just how critical fathers can be in the socialization process of children.
So, on this special day, may God shower special blessings on all you who are fathers or fathers-to-be, stepfathers and foster fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, and fathers-to-be! Happy Father’s Day!!
