Today, the Christian world celebrates the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Here in Reitoca, F.M., Honduras, this is a very special day, for it is the patronal feast of our parish. St. Francis of Assisi is also the patron saint of our deanery that includes five large parishes of the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa: Alubaren, La Libertad, Lepaterique, Reitoca, and San Miguelito.
The above photo is of the Church of San Francisco de Asis in the pueblo of Reitoca. This church is one of the 40 churches of our parish that spans 125 square miles of rugged mountains.
