Today is the first day of Winter in the United States, so I wish you a Happy Winter!
Here in Reitoca, F.M., Honduras, it’s always hot, so “seasons of the year” are basically non-existent. Officially, though “summer” is November through April, and “winter” is May through October. Kids are now on summer vacation – November, December and January. The new school year begins in February.
We also talk about the “growing seasons” (and we have 2 each year for most crops like corn and beans), the “harvest seasons” (August and December), or we talk about the “rainy seasons” (May and October) and the “dry seasons.” In case you’re wondering, the “harvest season” for coffee is December.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you also!
Yes it is official, winter arrived at 0502 this morning. I remember you telling me the days in Honduras never change, about 12 hours day and 12 hours night year round.
Merry Christmas, Father Bob! May you have a Happy and Healthy New Year.
