On the evening of Holy Saturday, Catholic Christians celebrate the most elaborate Mass of the year called the Easter Vigil Mass.
This grand liturgy is special in many ways and features the Blessing of the New Fire; Blessing of the Paschal Candle; the Easter Proclamation; a Liturgy of the Word that includes various readings from both the Old and New Testaments; and Blessing of the Water. In many Catholic parishes, this Mass also features the celebration of the 3 Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism; Confirmation; and First Communion).
In the photo above from 2024, we see the fire outside of the Church of Espíritu Santo in Samalares Abajo, a community of Reitoca. The Mass begins with the blessing of the new fire from which the priest lights the paschal candle.
