Today, people of the United States are observing Independence Day as a national holiday.
Independence Day, more commonly called “The Fourth of July,” commemorates the founding of the United States of America in 1776. Though it started with 13 colonies, which became states, today it has 50 states.
Typically, the day is celebrated with family and friends enjoying picnics, going to the beach, watching parades, and in the evening, watching fireworks.
