For many Catholic Christians, May is called “Mary’s Month,” a time dedicated to honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus and spouse of Saint Joseph.
In Honduras, people bring flowers to church in honor of Mary, and there, they say special prayers each day during the month.
In the above photo, we seen an image of Mary in the Church of San Lorenzo in Alubarén, dressed in a beautiful cloak brought from a visitor from South America.
The community of Alubarén was founded 100 years before the founding of the United States of America, and the Church of San Lorenzo, more than 400-years old, is the oldest church in the parish of San Francisco de Asís-Reitoca.
