With 87 churches of the parish scattered over 250-square miles of mountains, one would think that would be sufficient. However, currently there are two more communities of our parish that have no church yet. One of them, La Majada, is part of the San Marcos Zone of Curarén, and it’s in the process of building a church.
The other is Tizate, a community of Alubarén. It does not have a church yet, but it does have leadership and gathers in a home. In the above photo, we see the Delegada de la Palabra of the community, Eduviges García Posadas, preparing the altar set up in a house for a Mass. When Mass began, the place was packed to overflowing. “Eduviges” means “Hedwig” in English.
