Meet Miriam and María of Carbonera!

In this photo, we see two Delegadas de la Palabra of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Carbonera, a pine forest community of Curarén, F.M., Honduras.   Miriam Yamileth Ruiz-Cruz (on the left) and María Magdalena García (on the right) have special education to be leaders of their community.  Among other duties, they conduct Liturgies of the Word on Thursdays and Sundays when the priest cannot come to their church, baptize babies in danger of death, visit the sick, coordinate the activities of the church community, conduct novenas for the dead, care for their church property, pay bills, and do a many other functions that a church administrator has to do.
