Most Holy Trinity

Today, we celebrate the feast of the Most Holy Trinity, the belief that there is but One God, and in this One God, there are Three Divine Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

One of the ways that Christians have tried to make some sense of this mystery is by assigning roles to each of the Persons in God.  Thus, God the Father is seen as the Creator of the universe.  God the Son is the Savior who took the form of a human being named Jesus.  And God the Holy Spirit is the Sanctifier who comes to us in our Baptism and dwells among us.

St. Patrick, the Apostle of Ireland, used a shamrock – a three-leafed clover – to try to explain the idea of three in one.

How do we show our love to the Blessed Trinity?
