Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, a beautiful day to reflect on the year that has gone by, and to think of ways to improve our lives in the next year.
What did we accomplish this year? How did we grow in wisdom and knowledge? How did we grow in faith, hope and charity? How did we show generosity, humility, or patience? As you can quickly see, the list can get quite lengthy!
This year could certainly be called the “Year of COVID-19.” The virus changed our lives in dramatic ways. Millions around the world became infected and many thousands died. People learned to enjoy their homes more, and many businesses learned they didn’t need all the brick-and-mortar buildings they thought they needed. Some workers learned to work from home, while others became unemployed. Churches closed their doors to live services, and many of us got to learn about new ways of communicating such as on Zoom.
This was an unusual year for me, also, for it was the first year in memory that I kept my “New Year’s Resolution” to one single thing: to start a blog. And, if you are reading this blog, you see I accomplished my goal. Woo Hoo!
For 2021, my one goal will be to put together a “missionary hero” volume, first of a series. On December 31, 2021 I’ll let you know how that goal turned out!
So, I end this year by thanking you for being part of missionpriest.com! I hope you have enjoyed it and will continue to enjoy it in the future!
I love your blog, thank you. Happy New Year Fr Bob.
