Today, Catholic Christians celebrate the Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time.

In the United States, Catholics also celebrate National Vocation Awareness Week that goes from November 6-12.

Although all people have a vocation – or many vocations in the case of some – this week, the Church asks us to focus on special Church vocations.  Specifically, the purpose of this week is to foster vocations to the ordained priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education.  During this week, we are also called to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.

Since 2014, National Vocation Awareness Week is celebrated on the first full week of November each year.
