Today, Catholic Christians celebrate the 6thSunday in Ordinary Time. But also, on this day, many celebrate World Marriage Day, a day set aside to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage. And certainly, Valentine’s Day is a perfect time to celebrate love.
The above photo is of Ilse del Carmen López and Vicente Antonio on their wedding day, April 7, 2018 at our sister parish, the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary in Wilmington, North Carolina. Theirs was one of the last weddings I had before moving to Honduras.
On this day, we are called to celebrate love and commitment, and we ask God to shower special blessings on those who are called to this special vocation.
