Tomorrow, September 29th, is the feast day of three archangels: Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael.
Of the three, St. Michael the Archangel is the one most celebrated in our part of Honduras, for St. Michael is the patron saint of the City of Tegucigalpa as well as the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa. The patron saint of the whole country, on the other hand, is St. Mary under the title of Our Lady of Suyapa.
In the above photo, we see Richard Creech from our sister parish, the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary in Wilmington, North Carolina, posing with a statue of St. Michael the Archangel in the Marriott Hotel-Tegucigalpa.

So good to see folks from St Mary’s visiting with you Father. I would like so much to do that also one day. I wish you health and good weather for the rest of this year and next. I hope you and the Church community are doing well with the current virus situation. God bless and keep you.

Fr Bob, I remember you taking this photo, it just outside that great restaurant at the Marriott. The last time we were there, I was saddened to see that they had moved St Michael the Archangel down to the parking deck. That was a couple of years ago, so I hope they moved him back to a more prominent place in Tegucigalpa. That is such a striking and powerful statue, I always looked for it when we were there.
