Recently, the plaza of the municipality of San Miguelito received a major facelift. In fact, the plaza is now one of the most beautiful sites in any of the church communities of our parish.
The plaza features beautiful, full-grown trees for shade, seating for visiting, park lanterns, a water feature, many tropical plants and flowers, and plenty of recreational equipment for children to play.
In addition, there are flag poles to host the flags of five nations of Central America that together declared their independence from Spain. The flags are those of: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. These countries celebrate Independence Day on September 15.
At Christmastime, there is a big tree in the plaza decorated for the holidays.
