This is the sanctuary of Sacred Heart of Jesus church in Cartagua, a community of Curarén, F.M., Honduras.  In this photo, we see some of the people, who have arrived early, waiting for Mass to begin.

Because this remote mountain village is growing, they have trouble fitting into the church.  Therefore, they are going to enlarge it with the help of the Red Lantern Foundation that helps poor Catholic churches of our parish with small projects.

With your permission Fr. Bob, I would like to make a quick appeal. If you follow Fr Bob’s blog you can’t help but notice how devoted each community is to their church. I have had the honor of visiting many of the churches with Fr Bob, and I was amazed with the craftsmanship of the community. From the plaster work to the tile work all done by local workers. Each community has the expertise but lack the money to buy building material. This is where Fr Bob’s foundation comes in, with modest donations of money great things happen. If you would like to make a Tax deductible donation of any amount, you may mail it to Red Lantern Foundation, 519 John S. Mosby Dr., Wilmington, NC 28412
