This is the sanctuary of the old church of Our Lady of Suyapa in El Arado, a community of Curarén, F.M., Honduras. The people are in the process of building a bigger church to hold the expanding population. The community of El Arado does not yet have electricity, so the people don’t have to worry about electrical installation. The community is now installing the floor that is made possible by a grant from the Red Lantern Foundation.
In this photo, we see some early arrivals to the church for Mass. By the altar area, we see a couple of the Delegados de la Palabra getting the church ready for Mass.
“El Arado” in English is “The Plow.”
