In the above photo, we see some of the members of the band of El Carreto playing for Mass in the Church of Medalla Milagrosa (Miraculous Medal). El Carreto is one of the churches of the parish of San Francisco de Asís in which I serve as the missionry vicar.
Our parish currently has 41 churches, but not all of the church communities have a band. Therefore, when I come to a church for Mass, there is often a visiting band from another one of our parish’s churches. It is heart-warming to see how readily our church communites are willing to help each other with music, catechisis, and other ministries when the need arises.
