This is the Church of María Auxiliadora in the Curarén community of Curarén. I first met this community on November 3, 2018, when I had been in Honduras for only a little over four months. In Tapope, the people grow bananas, beans, coconuts, coffee, corn, and sugar cane. The community also grows rice when there is sufficient rain. This is the only community of our parish that I’ve heard of growing rice.
