I first encountered the church in Usuyca, a community of Curarén, in late July of 2018. I had been living in Honduras for only one month at the time. The name of the church is Santísima Trinidad (Most Holy Trinity).
The people of the community have strong leadership and a vibrant congregation, and they are always ready to offer a warm welcome.
The climate in Usuyca is much cooler than the seat of our parish in Reitoca, which is always hot. The people of Usuyca raise corn, beans, and bananas. When I first went to this community, many of the pine trees had been destroyed by weevils.
