This is a photo of the sanctuary of Santa Cruz in the Reitocan community of the same name. The leaders of the church community keep the church in excellent condition. Because of its structure and beautiful tile work, that makes their job fairly easy.
The Santa Cruz community is also known for their creative decorations for the various liturgical seasons and special holidays. The photo above shows the altar decorated for their patronal feast day, May 3, 2022. Unlike most of the Catholic Church throughout the world, Honduras celebrates the feast of the Holy Cross on May 3, not on September 14.
