Today, Catholic Christians celebrate the feast of the Most Holy Trinity.
On this day, we hear Jesus tell his disciples this message:
“The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they all saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, ‘All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age’” (Matthew 28: 16-20).
For more than 2,000 years now, Catholic Christians have followed this “Great Commission” by bringing the good news of Jesus to the whole world. Some do it as formal home or foreign missionaries, while others do it by teaching their children in their home about Jesus and his message of love.
In the above photo, we see two former pastors of our parish, Fathers Alex Mauricio Ruiz Santos and Gerardo Alberto Vallecillo Murcia.

Forgot! Fr. Matthew’s homily – yes about the Holy Trinity! He talked about how many years in the seminary it took to study the Holy Trinity When we must understand the simplicity of being the sons and daughters of God the Father. Maybe it is written out on the Web Page. This is what I miss (one of the thousand) about you. Your homilies were always printed in the Church Bulletin. This way we could always review it or if we were from a different land or like our priest from a different country – we could see it in writing. I hope that you have a wonderful day.
Also, Fr. T and Fr Rizard will really be trading parishes. I believe both parishes will be happy.

I just watched Mass on line from the Cathedral as I have every week during COVID. But per usual, I read what you say first. I think that you would love Fr. Matthew Today was the first week without masks or social distancing. The big deal for me was the congregation was singing! So if the Cathedral can do it, so can St. Mary and we can have our choir back!!~ This is Fr. Matthew’s Bio Rev. Matthew Ikechukwu Nwafor
Parochial Vicar
Born and raised in Enugu, Nigeria. He earned his Masters in Theology from Duquesne University Pittsburgh, and his Doctorate in Philosophy from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Nigeria. He had his continued seminary formation at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Philadelphia. Fr. Matthew taught at Godfrey Okoye Catholic University Enugu. He was ordained to the Catholic Priesthood on June 6, 2020, and was assigned to the Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral Raleigh, North Carolina, as a Parochial Vicar. Other than that today, Father Tom (Fr. T) is going to be our new priest. He was here in 1973 and baptized our youngest son. I think that the parish will really like him a lot. I will write more later.
