Today, the people of the United States of America celebrate Veterans’ Day, a holiday honoring all people who served in one of the branches of the Armed Forces. November 11 is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. The Armistice was signed at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. Originally, this day was known as Armistice Day, but in 1919, President Woodrow Wilson changed the name to Veterans’ Day.
On this day, we thank all people who have served in the Armed Forces.
So many sacrificed with selfless courage and grace. We must hold them in our hearts and thoughts always.
