Tomorrow, Catholic Christians celebrate the World Day of the Sick. This day, founded by Pope St. John Paul II in 1992, was created to remind us to pray for the sick and do whatever we can to alleviate suffering in the world.
This day of commemoration falls on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. Lourdes is a popular French site where many sick pilgrims visit hoping to be cured.
Our parish does its part to help the sick by serving them in our Clínica Santa María and Farmacia San Francisco de Asís in Reitoca, and in Farmacia Candelaria in Curarén.
In the above photo, we see Dr. Cinthia Varela working in Farmacia San Francisco de Asís.
