This is the church of the Morning Star in El Tamboral, a community of Curarén. The church is about 2 hours from Reitoca by pickup truck.
I first experienced this church on October 6, 2018 in a torrential rain storm. The few people who were able to make it to the church for Mass that day were most welcoming.
The church got its name from the Book of Revelation where it says, “I, Jesus, sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the root and offspring of David, the bright morning star” (Rev. 22:16). So, the church is named after Jesus, the morning star.
