During the liturgical season of Lent, Catholic Churches are encouraged to decorate more somberly than usual. So, during Lent, we don’t usually see vibrant colors and lots of flowers.
In the above photo, we see the altar of the Church of San Lorenzo decorated for Lent. Violet (a form of purple) is the official color of Lent. The Church of San Lorenzo, which is more than 400-years old, is the oldest church of the parish of San Francisco de Asís – Reitoca, F.M., Honduras.
