Earth Day was founded on April 22, 1970, and has been celebrated ever since in 193 nations of the world.
The purpose of Earth Day is to mobilize people across the world to come together to care for our planet. “People” include businesses, governments, religious groups, and others. Individuals and group are encouraged to join together to take steps to create a planet that has healthy air, water, and land for humans, animals, and plants.
On the Holy Cross Campus of the parish of San Francisco de Asís in Reitoca, F.M., Honduras, we do our part to make this a more beautiful world. In the photo above, we see Juan Cabrera, the mayordomo (chief) of the campus, in one of the gardens of our little campus with one of the plumeria plants that is in bloom.
