Father Bob in his cornfield

In this photo, we see me (Fr. Bob Kus) in my cornfield on the Holy Cross Campus in Reitoca, F.M., Honduras.

As you can see from the photo, the corn has grown tall and beautiful.  Unfortunately, however, it did not produce corn.  Possibly the problem is that lights shining from the house and visitors’ cabins kept the plants awake at night – at least that is the theory of the farmers who live and work here.  It never dawned on me that some plants need to “sleep” at night!

So, I no longer have corn growing.  However, I do have other edibles including almonds, avocados, bananas, coconuts, mangos, papayas, lemons, and oranges.
