Father Carlos Gives Food

Fr. Bob Kus

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Fr. Carlos Lagos, pastor of our parish, delivered hundreds of food packages to the poor in the remote mountain areas of our parish.  Because there are no banks in this far-flung parish, and because all the buses were not operating, and because stores don’t take credit cards in this parish, many people were stuck with no money.  So, the food was a Godsend.

The packages that Fr. Carlos distributed with parishioner Edys Medina included items such as flour, rice, beans, macaroni, spaghetti, and coffee.

In this photo, we see Fr. Carlos give a parishioner one of the bags of supplies.  The bags were so heavy, that I could barely lift one!

God Bless you Father Lagos. I would like to contribute to assist in this very beautiful and life saving endeavor.

Reading this, puts things into perspective. All of my problems seem smaller. I am so glad that I support Salud Hondu and thank the Cromer’s for beginning it here at the Basilica Shrine of Saint Mary.
