The vocation of father is a noble and complex one, so I pray that God will shower you with the special graces you need to be a good father or grandfather. Today is the perfect time to thank fathers for what they do for us.
On the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time, we are treated to a selection from St. Matthew’s Gospel. In it, Jesus reminds us to never fear anyone who can harm our bodies. Rather, the only ones to fear are those who seek to destroy our spirits or souls. Jesus reminds us that God the Father is watching over all of us, and if we are faithful to Jesus, he will acknowledge to the Father at the end of time. And isn’t that our ultimate goal, to spend eternity in heaven?
