This is a photo of the old church of El Arado, a community of Curarén, F.M., Honduras. “El Arado” means “The Plow.” Currently, however, the people are building a new church. Recently, the Red Lantern foundation provided the community a grant to buy cement and tiles for their floor which, currently, is dirt.
In this photo, we see some of the people of the community visiting before celebrating Mass in their old church building. Like almost all churches of our parish, the church is the center of life for the people.
The name of this humble but lively church is Our Lady of Suyapa, the patron saint of Honduras.
