This is Darwin Medina of Reitoca, a seminarian of the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa.
On this Fourth Sunday of Easter, we read in the Gospel of John (10: 1-10), how sheep know the shepherd’s voice and follow him.
Catholic Christians celebrate this day as World Day of Prayer for Vocations. And although the Church celebrates all vocations, the purpose of this day is to focus on praying for an increase of vocations to the ordained ministries (priesthood and diaconate), the Religious life (male and female), societies of apostolic life, secular institutes, and the missionary life.
In the above photo, we see Darwin Medina, a third-year theology student at Our Lady of Suyapa Major Seminary in Tegucigalpa, F.M., Honduras. Darwin is from Reitoca, the seat of the parish of San Francisco de Asís.
Currently, our parish has three ordained priests: Fathers Carlos and Sebastián who are priests of the Archdiocese of Tegucigalpa, and me, a missionary priest of the Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina.
God bless!
