New Year’s Eve, 2022

Well, here we are once again at the end of another year.  I hope that it has been a good one for you or, if not, that you were able to navigate through life’s storms with God’s graces.

Actually, when you write a blog, you have to create the posts in advance.  I’m writing this post, for example, on October 3.  The world hasn’t blown up…yet.  So that’s good news.  Let’s hope it stays that way.

I think of the poor priests who wrote cheery little pastor’s corner for their bulletins the week of the bombing of Pearl Harbor.  Their pastor’s corner certainly didn’t reflect the times, did they?

Well, as the old year comes to an end, I like to reflect on whether or not I accomplished my New Year’s Day goal for the year.  I had to go back and look to see what it was.  And, I’m happy to say, I was able to accomplish it.  My goal was to write and publish the first volume of a new series of books called Catholic Missionary Heroes.  This series comes from the “missionary heroes” contained in my blogs on Fridays.  Each volume will focus on the men and women heroes of a particular year.  This year, I was able to publish volumes 1 and 2, containing the biographies of missionary heroes featured in the blog posts of 2020 and 2021 respectively.  Because my blog, MissionPriest.Com, didn’t begin until April of 2020, volume 1 only contains the biographies of 35 folks, while volume 2 contains 48.  I hope you begin to collect this interesting series that is available in both English and Spanish editions on Amazon.com.

Well, all for now.  God bless you and those you love!
